I. The shape of laser beam:
The shape of laser beam is a cone, so the cutting shape is a taper. With this situation, the kerf of 0.4mm thickness plate is much thinner than 3mm thickness plate. So the shape of laser beam is the most key point of laser cutting accuracy. With this cone shape laser beam, the thicker plate is, the lower cutting accuracy will be and the bigger kerf will be.

II. Kerf width:
When the cone shape laser beam focus together, the kerf will be thinner. So the fiber laser cutting accuracy will get better, esp. the kerf width will be thinner and thinner. At this situation, the min laser spot can reach 0.01mm. This is one of the factor influence on fiber laser cutting accuracy, too.

III. Machine body precision:
If the accuracy of fiber CNC cutting machines working table is uneven or other reason also can make fiber laser cutting quality not good.

I. The cutting surface is not vertical:
When we use the common plasma power source to cut, the best one will have a small angle of inclination about 3-5°. If the actual angle is bigger than 3-5°, that belongs to the vertical is not good, and the reason is as following:
A. Torch installation is not vertical to the plates: if cut a symmetric figure the angle is the same side, that is this problem.

B. Cutting direction is incorrect: the required side should be on the torch forward right side.

C. Torch height is not good: Negative cut angle (the bottom side is less) means the torch height is too low; Positive cut angle (the top side is less)

D. Torch spare parts need to change;
E. Cutting current is not good;
F. Cutting speed is not good.

II. The drows on the cutting part:
A. The spater on the top side: the spater on the both sides of the kerf
  Reason: torch is too low
  Solution: adjust higher arc voltage value to heighten the torch.
B. The drows on the bottom side:

--Cutting speed is too slow, and the shape of the drows are bolls and a lot.drows can be easy to move out.

Reduce cutting current and use the matched spare parts for the torch
Cutting speed too slow
Faster the cutting speed
Cutting height too low
Adjust higher arc voltage value to heighten the torch

--Cutting speed too fast:,the drows are fine rolls, and hard to move out.

Change nozzle
Cutting current too small
Increase cutting current and use the matched spare parts for the torch
Cutting speed too fast
Slower the cutting speed
Cutting height too high
Adjust lower arc voltage value to heighten the torch
Otherwise, the bottom drows also considered about air pressure and flow setting.

III. Didn't cut through:
A. The first piercing spot didn't cut through and lead the shape didn't cut through: the pierce delay time is too short, should be longer;
B. The first piercing spot had cutted through, but the following parts didn't cut through:

Change nozzle
Rusting, paint or other insulators on the cover of cutting materials
Move out the insulators
Cutting current too small
Increase cutting current and use the matched spare parts for the torch
Cutting speed too fast
Slower the cutting speed
Plates too thick for plasma power source
Change into suitable plasma power source

IV. The min hole cutting rules:
• Rules: The hole's inner diameter should be twice as the plate thickness;
• To cut small hole the inside will be a taper hole.

After more than 20 years development of laser technology updating and working process all over the world, laser cutting technology and laser cutting machines had been accepted and familiar with vast plates processors about high effective, high precision, perfect cutting finish of laser cutting process.
According to different types of laser sources, right now there are 3 main types of laser cutting machines: CO2 laser cutting machine, YAG laser cutting machine (also called solid laser cutting machine), and fiber laser cutting machine.

TopTech COLA CO2 Laser Cutting Machine
CO2 laser cutting machine can cut within 20mm carbon steel stably, within 10mm stainless steel, within 8mm aluminium alloy. The wave length of CO2 laser tube is 10.6um, which is easy absorbed by non-metal materials. It can cut wood, acrylic, PP, organic glass and other non-metal materials with high quality. CO2 lasers light-electric percent conversion is only about 10%.

There is a nozzle at CO2 laser cutting machines light exit for injecting O2, compressed air or inert gas N2 to improve cutting speed and the cutting finish quality. To improve CO2 laser source stability and life time, the key point is to solve the issue of laser source releasing electric stability. CO2 laser belongs to lest damage on human body based on International safety standard.

CO2 laser power is very big. Normally the output power is between 2000-4000W, which can cut with in 25mm stainless steel, carbon steel and normal materials, and it can cut within 4mm Aluminuim plates and within 60mm acrylic boards, wood materials, PVC.

From 6-25mm middle thick plates cutting requires, CO2 laser cutting machine can be good choice, but also need to consider about the maintenance cost. YAG Laser CNC Cutting Machine
YAG fiber laser cutting machine has low price, stable characteristics, but its energy efficiency is very low, normally less than 3%. Now YAG laser cutting machine max out put power is less than 8000W. Due to output power is small, YAG laser cutting machine usually be used on cutting thin plates holes. Its green laser light can be used with pules or continuous wave (CW). With short wave and good light focusing ability, YAG laser cutting machine especially used for precision process. And with pules it is most effective on spots cutting. And it also can be used on cutting, welding and marking functions.
YAG laser cutting machines wave length is not long, so it cant be absorbed by non-metal materials. That is to say it cant cut non-metal materials.

YAG laser cutting machine can cut Aluminium plats and Copper plates and other color metal materials which other types laser cutting machine cant cut. And the machine purchasing price is best, operation cost is low, maintenance is easy. As well as it has less limits on operators.

ATTENTIONAL on YAG laer cutting machine:
It only can cut less than 8mm materials, and the cutting effective is very low. YAG laser cutting machines pulse is like Xenon lamp, which usually max can be used 20 days. That is to say every 20 days, it need to be exchanged. Undoubtedly it is a huge expense. The lights mirrors are reflector, enlarge beam optic, protection optic, which are all important consumable parts of YAG laser cutting machine. If the machine maintenance well, these optics can be sued as long as 3 months, but to maintenance YAG laser cutting machine well is very difficult.
Within 8mm thickness cutting requires, YAG laser cutting machine would be suitable for color metal cutting, which can be used on household appliances, kitchen ware, decoration, advertisement manufacturing process.
YAG laser cutting machine will take over line cutting machine, punching machine, water cutting machine in the market.
