I. The cutting surface is not vertical:
When we use the common plasma power source to cut, the best one will have a small angle of inclination about 3-5°. If the actual angle is bigger than 3-5°, that belongs to the vertical is not good, and the reason is as following:
A. Torch installation is not vertical to the plates: if cut a symmetric figure the angle is the same side, that is this problem.

B. Cutting direction is incorrect: the required side should be on the torch forward right side.

C. Torch height is not good: Negative cut angle (the bottom side is less) means the torch height is too low; Positive cut angle (the top side is less)

D. Torch spare parts need to change;
E. Cutting current is not good;
F. Cutting speed is not good.

II. The drows on the cutting part:
A. The spater on the top side: the spater on the both sides of the kerf
  Reason: torch is too low
  Solution: adjust higher arc voltage value to heighten the torch.
B. The drows on the bottom side:

--Cutting speed is too slow, and the shape of the drows are bolls and a lot.drows can be easy to move out.

Reduce cutting current and use the matched spare parts for the torch
Cutting speed too slow
Faster the cutting speed
Cutting height too low
Adjust higher arc voltage value to heighten the torch

--Cutting speed too fast:,the drows are fine rolls, and hard to move out.
Reason
Solution
Torch nozzle broken
Change nozzle
Cutting current too small
Increase cutting current and use the matched spare parts for the torch
Cutting speed too fast
Slower the cutting speed
Cutting height too high
Adjust lower arc voltage value to heighten the torch
Otherwise, the bottom drows also considered about air pressure and flow setting.

III. Didn't cut through:
A. The first piercing spot didn't cut through and lead the shape didn't cut through: the pierce delay time is too short, should be longer;
B. The first piercing spot had cutted through, but the following parts didn't cut through:

Torch nozzle broken
Change nozzle
Rusting, paint or other insulators on the cover of cutting materials
Move out the insulators
Cutting current too small
Increase cutting current and use the matched spare parts for the torch
Cutting speed too fast
Slower the cutting speed
Plates too thick for plasma power source
Change into suitable plasma power source

IV. The min hole cutting rules:
• Rules: The hole's inner diameter should be twice as the plate thickness;
• To cut small hole the inside will be a taper hole.

--CO2 Laser CNC Cutting Machine

Laser cutting is a non-touching processing way to avoid machine pressure and have perfect working process on the surface. The super control system, Eckelmann EXC880, makes not only precision processing, but also sharp angle, small hole, and more complicated geometric figure cutting which cant be done by traditional cutting die process. After more than 20 years development of laser technology updating and working process all over the world, laser cutting technology and laser cutting machines had been accepted and familiar with vast plates processors about high effective, high precision, perfect cutting finish of laser cutting process.
According to different types of laser sources, right now there are 3 main types of laser cutting machines: CO2 laser cutting machine, YAG laser cutting machine (also called solid laser cutting machine), and fiber laser cutting machine.
TopTech would like to share the differences, advantages of these 3 types laser cutting methods.

TopTech COLA CO2 Laser Cutting Machine
CO2 laser cutting machine can cut within 20mm carbon steel stably, within 10mm stainless steel, within 8mm aluminium alloy. The wave length of CO2 laser tube is 10.6um, which is easy absorbed by non-metal materials. It can cut wood, acrylic, PP, organic glass and other non-metal materials with high quality. CO2 lasers light-electric percent conversion is only about 10%.

There is a nozzle at CO2 laser cutting machines light exit for injecting O2, compressed air or inert gas N2 to improve cutting speed and the cutting finish quality. To improve CO2 laser source stability and life time, the key point is to solve the issue of laser source releasing electric stability. CO2 laser belongs to lest damage on human body based on International safety standard.

CO2 laser power is very big. Normally the output power is between 2000-4000W, which can cut with in 25mm stainless steel, carbon steel and normal materials, and it can cut within 4mm Aluminuim plates and within 60mm acrylic boards, wood materials, PVC.

The key technology had held in USA manufacturers. Some Chinese manufacturers had got the same level technology of low CO2 laser power source. But CO2 laser cutting machine maintenance fee is very expensive and very difficult, the requires of operators is very high.
From 6-25mm middle thick plates cutting requires, CO2 laser cutting machine can be good choice, but also need to consider about the maintenance cost. With mature technology of fiber laser cutting machine, such as TopTech Fiber II laser CNC cutting machine, CO2 laser cutting machine will be taken over by fiber laser cutting machine in the future.
